This is way overdue. Blogging has taken a bit of a backseat here lately as the holiday season has been one of our busiest times in all the years we have worked in photography. Honestly, we can’t complain. As our focus shifted to working with families, enjoying the beautiful days that come with the changing of season, showing our final weddings of the year seemed to get swept away in the grind of near constant shooting and editing. However, we would be remised if we did not look back at this one from back in October. Ok, so October was not THAT far back, but doesn’t it seem like it?
Like many of our clients, we love showing the final chapter, so to speak, of a wedding day. Looking back at Jessica and Hunter’s engagement session, then Jessica’s stunning self in her bridal portraits makes us kind of sad that our time with them is done, at least in the wedding sense. For all the time we spend with our wedding clients; photo sessions, meetings, emails, and planning on the phone, the arrival of the wedding day is as much an enjoyment and celebration for us as it is a work day. For years we have preached that the wedding day should not be a photo shoot. Our ultimate goal is to blend in, careful to nudge the day along and help pace the time so that our actual shooting time does not get in the way of real moments. Getting to know our couples is the most important step we take in achieving that goal. For us, the time spent in the months leading up to the wedding are invaluable.
A wedding at Rock’ N Dollar Ranch in Lumberton, TX is pretty fun. They have a lot of great outdoor space and cool scenery for anyone looking for a nice country wedding. It is a large enough venue to accommodate a full group of wedding goers while still feeling intimate and cozy. As a wedding photographer in Southeast Texas we’re always thrilled that we have so many cool independent venues such as this. Each wedding we shoot takes on a new personality, and we certainly enjoyed many of the moments captured this day. Congratulations again to Jessica and Hunter!
