Beaumont Wedding Photographer | Lindsey and Kenny

This past week I went shopping for all kinds of yard goodies. I found a nice little leaf blower as a nice replacement for a straw broom to sweep the entire drive-way after mowing. I stocked up on an unsafe amount of assorted bug poisons so as to combat the dive bombing wasps and invading ants that never seem to get the hint. It was a morning outside of the normal routine, and I loved it. Before checking out I walked through the garden area and found myself looking at all of the spring flowers. Now, I know nothing about planting and landscaping, but I did have the idea that a few pretty flowers to spruce up the front of the house could be really nice. So I found some flowers that were a deep shade of purple (Kimberly’s favorite) and gave it a shot. Funny enough, a simple run to pick up some usual yard accessories turned in to one of our more memorable family days. We pulled ourselves away and went all out to clean and do some simple landscaping, and it was completely refreshing.

We are entering the time of year where working in photography becomes more and more of a mental and physical grind. After all we want to be fresh and creative all the time, putting in 100% energy and effort for each client to give them our very best work. With seniors, families, engagement sessions, bridal sessions all filling the week before we even get to long wedding days, we can tap the well of creativity at a crazy pace. So what keeps us going, ready and excited for each new session? Besides our pace of work and doing things the right way internally, our biggest joy is in the people we meet all the time. The nature of our work is that we are total home bodies until we aren’t. Meaning we’re 100% hidden away at home or 100% delving in to meeting and working with people while running the roads.

We first spoke with Lindsey and Kenny on some long evening phone calls. They live out near the Houston area, but had sought us out for their wedding later this year. I am always struck by how down to earth and cool our clients are. Like you’d genuinely enjoy hanging out with them on a Friday night just talking about nothing. So when we met them for engagement photos in Beaumont it was like meeting old friends. THAT is what makes what we do so amazing. Our creative well can be drained, but for every session we simply love meeting and learning new stories from our brides and grooms and it recharges our ideas. I’ve said many times that the eventual wedding day is less like work for us (ok it is a ton of work) and more like going to celebrate a wedding with our couples.

Photography in Beaumont is a special kind of fun challenge. We try to see the same places in a new way for every shoot. A photographer is only as good as his/her subject and the light they are framed in. Fortunately for us, we had both! I said on a Facebook post that working with these two was a mini adventure for us. We are super thankful to the crew at J Wilsons here in Beaumont to give us a new bit of variety for the session, and even jumped in among the guys over at the skate park to give us a unique vibe to the whole day. Take a look!
