I’ve been on a rainy day kick lately. The burst of cool breeze that foretells the coming storm, the thunder groaning in the distance and the inevitable downpour breaks the stifling heat and gives a sense of newness and change. Much is changing for our family as we await the birth of our son. It seems that over the last few years ‘change’ has simply become the new normal. This summer has been jam packed with many adventures and challenges. As a photographer we live in the world of change. After all we are most often called upon to document the landmark moments in the lives of our clients. Perhaps this is why we enjoy our work in weddings so much.
We’ve been very fortunate to work with these two first with their engagements and then Hannah’s bridal session. As photographers we are first and foremost observers. In many ways this gives us a silent understanding and appreciation for each couple because we look so intently into their interactions and emotions. In our time working with Hannah and Will we can certainly attest to the depth of their relationship. For Hannah, there is a special smile that radiates only when she is looking at Will. For Will, well you can see when she walks down the aisle what she means to him.
Being a wedding photographer in Southeast Texas over many years has given us the opportunity to work in many familiar venues and churches. Hannah and Will were married at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Beaumont while their reception was held at the Beaumont Event Centre. As often as we may visit these places I am amazed at how new each wedding day feels.
Little details often make the largest impact. Their personalized monogram that dawned their stationary and cake, the handmade rosary beads from rose petals Hannah kept during their years together, and of course my favorite, the flaming Bananas Foster bar for Will’s groom table.
Simply put, it was a good day.
