If I’ve said it once…I’ve probably said it a lot more than that: I love Fall. Sure, we all love Fall for different reasons, but living in an area that seems to always have high humidity means we have unique challenges as photographers. Believe me when I say the camera can ‘see’ humidity. Outdoor light is a funny thing. It is temperamental, and unpredictable. Our goal is to find where the light ‘pops’ and when the humidity drops there is a special clarity to the light unique to this time of year. It is our busiest time with on location shoots, and we love it!
Recently we were able to work with Emily and Zach. Indulge me for a moment when I say that couples like this really do make our job a blast. Photography is most fun when you don’t take yourself too seriously, and just enjoy the moments. Emily and Zach are ones who genuinely love being in each other’s company. For them a session is almost like a date, a time to walk around together, and an unneeded excuse to cuddle from time to time. We often get questions on how we ‘pose’ when working on a shoot. Our true goal is to pose as little as possible and more guide throughout the shoot. Emily and Zach took this and ran like pros. They did a great job simply being themselves and it really shows in the final result of the images.
Another side of shooting is deciding on the ‘where.’ Photography in Southeast Texas is about finding the best place at the best time. This isn’t a huge area, but we have some great go-to spots that can really shine. Emily and Zach had their first date at New York Pizza Pasta so we started there and worked our way around the down town area, to a little park with some beautiful trees, and ending in a sun kissed field watching the sunset.
