The first day after a wedding is always somewhat of a blur. No, we do not partake with the guests in the ‘festivities’ but we do drain ourselves physically and especially mentally as we document the story that is a wedding day. After some sleep and lots of coffee we are finally back in the swing of things today!
When we have couples that choose us to document their wedding it certainly humbles us and we never take it for granted. Beyond even that are couples who invest their time with us for engagement photos and even a separate bridal session. We love this as it gives us a chance to work and meet the couple many times before the actual wedding day.
Bridal sessions (as we have said many times) are some of our very favorite sessions to do. There is something about an entire wedding day that points to the bride both in tradition and in symbolism throughout the wedding. To have a relaxed, slower paced time to photograph our brides outside of the wedding day gives us an opportunity to capture her natural beauty away from the inevitable chaos of a wedding day. Plus, brides get another chance to wear their wedding dress! That thing is way too gorgeous to wear just once!
With that said we have been itching, aching, just plain anxious to ‘unveil’ (see what I did there?) Emily’s bridal session. In the coming days we will unpack the insane amount of photos from Emily and Zach’s wedding to share, but this is by far one of our favorite sessions to date.
Emily had her Bridal portraits at the Brown Estate in Orange, TX. It has been a little while since we shot on the property so it was fun for us to take a fresh perspective from sessions or weddings we have done there in the past. As much as we have learned and worked in photography over many years, we are still learning and growing in our knowledge and ideas of how to create beautiful images for our clients. With Emily we truly wanted to paint her with light in a way that would show the elegant bride that she is. Photography is an art form, and bridal portraits give us to chance to produce images that are akin to paintings by use of light and shadow. Of course, we could not leave out some time on the grounds themselves. This session was several weeks ago with sun still lower in the sky and we used every bit of the time we had to capture Emily. I hope you enjoy these! We will have lots to come from their fantastic wedding day!
