We have endless fond memories of time spent in San Antonio. Growing up, Kyle had family that lived here, and he would spend weeks at a time visiting, enjoying the River Walk and all of downtown. Kyle also had some amazing years in high school as a band student performing in the Texas All-State bands for the Texas Music Educators Association annual conference. When Lauren and Grier asked if we would be up for traveling to San Antonio for their wedding day, it was an easy YES! When we travel at all for weddings, we are always sure to arrive at least the day before. We want to have no chance of fighting traffic and making us remotely late for a wedding. We decided to stay downtown the night before the wedding at the Hotel Gibbs so we could visit some old favorites. By old favorites of course we mean the Alamo and finding amazing food, Rosarios.
Oh, and we were here to shoot a wedding right? Kyle started the day at the San Antonio Country Club where the guys were hanging out. By guys hanging out we mean basically a giant crowd of dudes, because this wedding party was HUGE. Us semi-introverted photographers do not even have that many friends to call our own, so it was wild working with such a large group! Grier probably isn’t the most “let’s take a ton of photos” guy you’ll ever meet, but he was a good sport and had fun with a lot of candid moments with his groomsmen. Kimberly was with the girls at a Lauren’s house, and they were all so fun and sweet. We especially loved all the moments with Lauren and her dad just before the ceremony.
The cocktail hour and reception were held at the Witte Museum and WOW did they show out for this one. Incredible decor, a live group of musicians, and a beautiful evening for it all to happen. We loved working with this family for the San Antonio adventure!
